help! loss of distance

i picked up a set of mizuno mp-37's (S300) last week and noticed a considerable loss of distance. with my old set, (mp-30s w/R300) my average carry distance with a 6 iron was 180-185yds, and able to pump it up to 192. with the new set, i'm seeing carry distance of around 160yds. i played 2 rounds with the 37's and was short by 20-25 yards on just about every single iron shot i played.

i know blades punish you if you don't make pure contact but the thing is that i'm hitting it dead solid and i'm still coming up way short. does my switch from regular flex to stiff flex shafts have a lot to do with this loss of distance? my swing speed with 5 iron (101mph) would suggest using a stiff flex, but i didn't think it would cause that much of a loss in distance. i was thinking the different flex would cost me 5-8 yards, which is negligible, but 20-25? that makes me sad

any thoughts?

I think shafts also. Has your ball flight changed too..ie. trajectory and curvature?

Re: help! loss of distance

trajectory is definitely lower and curvature is rather flat.

i took my clubs in to a golf shop to swap the stiffs out for regulars. we'll see how that goes.
