Help getting weight back!

At the top of my backswing, my body almost has a forward lean, I have to much weight on my front foot. Just wondering some drills to fix this, it doesnt really affect my irons, just my woods.

At the top of your backswing, check to see that your left shoulder is over your right knee... (assuming you're right handed)...

It depends really on where you go from here. On the forward swing, does the weight go even more forward or does it go backward? If it goes backward, then there is a serious problem, but if starts forward and then goes more forward, that's ok.

Hogan ended with more of his weight on his front foot at the top of his backswing than on the back foot. But then that weight ended up very forward. He actually didn't worry too much about the weight shift -- it happened as a result of the rotation forward and back. But, his setup was very even to slightly on the front foot and at setup his left hip was over his leg and at the top of the swing the left hip was over his leg. He doesn't end up with all his weight on the back foot, he remained centered for the windup and then exploded forward on the downswing.

Likely you are straightening your leverage leg which will cause the upper body to tilt toward the target. Do some practice pivots without a club, hands on hips, keeping the leverage leg flexed, and get the head over the inside of that thigh. The feel will be that of "sitting down" on the back hip. This may make your swing feel "shorter" or restricted. Not to worry. That restriction is actually power which will be imparted to the ball. Swing back to that point of restriction and let er rip.

Straightening the legs has to do with losing your balance...stance shoulder width (wider than you think), weight distributed heel to toe, and keep your feet rooted to the ground as long as you can...and oh yeah, swing within yourself (don't overswing!!!!)...hope this helps...

Aaron Baadley does it on purpose and the practice is referred to as "stacking" (your weight on your front foot).

Here is cool video about one plane swings.

The one plane Swing

I am trying these swings ... especially with my 9 iron to sand wedge.

Your body and tendencies might suit a one plane swing.

A key for you would be deciding what approach to swinging you want to take and stick with it.

The guy in the video says "Tiger Woods has a one plane swing", which I dont think he does !

Well, I hit my Irons very solid with this swing, put my woods I usually top or have a big slice on, Is there something I have to do with the woods?
