the hot spot

I'm new to golfing, but I'm fascinated on learning everything i can. I am fresh out of high school and no longer playing any high school sports. I have been going to the driving range frequently and on my drives i cant seem to hit the "hot spot" on my driver. All the marks on my club head are on the lower half of my driver, and i cant seem to get it on the upper half of the driver, which i have read is the hot spot for further shots. I have tried putting the tee higher but i still hit it with the lower part of the clubhead. Any suggestions?

Re: the hot spot

How are your wedges?

Not being glib, but learn to hit those and it will go a long way towards finding the sweet spot on the driver...

Re: the hot spot

Stay with the shot by keeping your body angles, particularly your spine angle, constant. A common problem is mental, not physical and that is stepping into the future - looking too early to see where the ball is going ( i.e. standing up too early). Remember the present covers both time and space, and it is the latter that trips up most golfers - stay centred with respect to your own body!
