That clubhead lag will allow you more energy to apply into impact when you finally do let it go.

I just saw small and skinny Bernhard Langer crank one 315yds...get it out of your head that swing speed equals strength...power for me comes from syncronicity, getting behind the ball, taking time at the top to shift your weight and start down with your hips, soft hands, supple wrists that allow the club to stay cocked, actually increase lag starting down, and release naturally...and the right hand/right knee...drive the knee at the ball hard and whip that right hand through...none of this is going to really help as they are snippets of the complete movement...when you figure it out you can re read this and it will hit you "oh yeah...that's what I'm doing"...but the one thing that I can say that can give you a push in the right direction is that you should widen your stance a touch, swing as smoothly as possible, take your time at the top of the swing, and try to have your backswing speed match your downswing speed...it will feel slow but it will be more than enough...that and you need to make center of the face contact (actually a little high on the face for driver to engage the gear effect)...whatever you do, don't try to hit the ball hard with your arms...it's the last thing that you want to do...
