Staying through the ball

So far my main problem with my driving (and somewhat with my irons) is staying through the ball. I tend to drop my hands down and swing up at the ball instead of coming through the ball. When I do this i usually hit a small popup that usually goes left (im a lefty). I was able to help this a lot with my irons by adding a hindge to my backswing and bringing my hands as high as I can...now mostly I hit my irons good although i sometimes slice it a bit. However i find that i still do this a lot with my driver. any suggestions?

Swing to the target not to the ball.

The target can be the flag, a tree, an unreachable bunker or even a slow group in front. LOL

The ball just gets in the way of the swing.

at least for my irons i have fixed the problem. instead of trying to lift the ball and swing under it, i come down and through the ball and it does what its supposed to do...when i get lazy i dont do this and i hit a bad shot. gotta keep concentrating.

Are you completely shifting you weight forward or breaking your spine angle? Every so often i go though the same kinda thing and when i do i just make sure i keep my spine angle past impact and finish with my weight forward.

You should create a proper spine angle at address, not hunched over but not over flat back. Then maintain it through the backswing, down and through impact. You would be suprised how much good balence and maintaining a good spine angle can effect your game.
