Alignment is easy to teach. It takes two clubs, or two straight lines.
The first line is directly behind the ball dead on target line. The second line is on the toe line in parallel with target line. Use the toe line to square up the feet, knees, hands, and shoulders.
At first the student will swear and be **** he is lined up left. It is an optical illusion they must get over and use too.
In addition you can use a cardboard box placed just outside the ball to keep the student from coming over the top because if they do they get real negative feedback hitting the box first. If they are a slow learner use a 2x4, because once they hit the board once they will never do it again once they heal up.

FWIW I use a Styrofoam packing blocks on my students.
