I am having a minor problem with my irons. I hit the ball straight, but it goes straight to the left. It's as though I am aiming for 20 yards to the left of the pin. The ball isnt hooking, it just goes left, like Im aiming that way...

what shafts are you using and do you normally have an inside to out or outside to in swing. I hit the ball straight also, sometimes with very little draw, but generally, i will hit left with a pull if my shafts are to stiff. depends on if it's swing problems or equipment problems.
Well, you may be aiming that way...check your alignment by laying a shaft across your toes. If that's not it then try moving the ball back in your stance ¼ of a ball at a time (I know that's minor and imprecise but try it anyway) until it comes back to center...if you overdo it you'll start to see a block shot...make your adjustments at the range, 1 bucket will probably do it. Let us know how it goes.
Sounds as if you might be shutting the clubface closed at the top of your swing. Check your swing at the top position, and ensure the clubface is parallel to your left forearm.
Some people disagree with the fix/remedy, but for me - a slight cupping of my left wrist at the "top" position cured this problem. Check some of the pictures on this website, generally the clubface is parallel to the left forearm at the top position:
The problem with hitting the ball to the left may be because of movement over the ball during the swing. When setting up at address, try to get the feel that you are remaining where you are in relation to the target and keeping your head behind the ball until it is gone. Most beginners do not keep the body/target orientation they set up with but tend to reorient to the ball on the down swing and then 'hit the ball' with the hands and move over it. Hope this helps.
i used to do that same exact thing a lot and for me it was my follow thru, now i dont swing too hard and i am a pretty big guy but i swing back pretty slow and kinda let the club do the work and just try to follow thru fully and straight up and try not to get into the habit of trying to muscle the ball, just let the club do th ework, it worked for me pretty well...just my .02 cents!!!
