Re: My swing 2

It been raining a lot and I have not had much chance to practice. But I managed to take this video on the practice range. If CG comes back from his busy schedule ( Hope everything is going OK ), maybe we can review whether there were any noticeable changes in my OTT swing.

Re: My swing 2

Scratch, it is an improvement for sure. You are still a little active with your slide forward and coming up and out of it but not nearly as much at or before impact. Your release is better but still too early.

Try to return the butt of the grip to a point just ahead of the ball with a flat left wrist and soft hands. It will delay your release a little but it is virtually impossible to keep the wrists cocked. You can't fight physics. Don't be surprised if you compress the ball a little better.
Happy new year,
Bob

Re: My swing 2

Early wrist set and early release (as Bob said) and, also, you're standing up through impact...as a result, you're head is moving. Stay down and behind the ball. Looks a little better...keep workin' at it.

Thanks Bob and Shade. It's work in progress. After 26 years of OTT, it's hard to make any changes but I'm trying.

It's probably the hardest to change but you are heading in the right direction. These swing flaws are not separate but interrelated. The club head will release prematurely if you are ahead of the ball because it must to square. You're almost at the "ah haww moment". If that does not translate in Portuguese, I mean the light goes off and you compreender.

Re: My swing 2

A couple things i notice when looking at your swing. 1st. You ahve little to no hip rotation. Your hips should start your backswing then when you get to the top your hips should drive your downswing. You use alot of arms and lose alot of distance with an arm swing. You need to get your lower body more involved. 2nd. Your left arm is pulling away from yuor body. When you swing you want your left arm to stay against your chest, on the downswing your left elbow stays by your left ribs as your forearms roll over when the clubs at your waist line. You have a little chicken wing going on. The best drill for that is to place a glove between the inside of your bicep "not your armpit" and take half swings. Bring the club back to waist high, swing down hit the ball and keep your elbow connected and bring the club up waist high on your follow through till your club head is in the tow up posistion without dropping the glove. Other then that not much more i could see in that angle. Next time post a video from behind you as you swing so we can see your swing plane.
