How to stop drawing and hitting down on the ball

Guys i need some serious help, the last few times i've played I can't help but hitting a 5 yard draw....my 7 iron is going around 170, and my aproach shots are usually more than 3 feet from the pin(usually when coming in from 180yards out). My other issues are taking taking divots IN FRONT of the **** ball, which means i'm hitting down, that *****.

I remember back in the day when i had my flying right elbow, poor weight shift and 75' turn, it used to be thins/fats/shanks and slices every time....i miss that consistency.

How do i get it back, all my mates don't want to play golf with me anymore due to the embarrasment they feel..they can slice with the best of them and i'm feeling left out!

I've been on this downward spiral for far to long, anyone else with this issue?

You are probably gripping way to lightly. Squeeze the grip as hard as you can, and you'll probably be right back in the groove quickly. Hope this helps!

This is some of that dry British humor we've heard so much about, huh?

Personally, I'd take a steady, dependable 5 yard draw if I could hit my 7iron 170 yards. That's about my 3wood distance now!

Serioulsy though, you should stick around...there's some good stuff and good people who like talking golf here...I "get" the humor, but at the same time don't relate...unlike the fictional Mr. Tongue in Cheek I shot +1 twice over the last week and feel like I got it all wrong and went for a lesson today...I love talking golf and don't think I'll ever outgrow trying to be better in this game...

Re: How to stop drawing and hitting down on the ball

Yeah, i was just kidding, i'm a duffer, a range rat that can never take it out onto the course, frustrated by what i know my ability to be but never playing a round where i play even near 70% of my best.

How is it that we all know why it works when it works! But come back tomorrow and try as you might you can't replicate....i love/hate golf.

My Dilemma is if I hit any distance I lose accuracy!
Just can't get it right!
