Question My Driver is confusing me!!

When I hit my Driver it usually goes straight. The odd time it will slice. Sometimes I will have a streak of 3 holes where I pull my driver way left. I make solid contact and it goes straight left. I don't know why this is. Then after a few holes it will start to go straight. It confuses me. I don't know why this happens. Could someone please help me with this.

You're probably rolling your hands over during your follow-through. This produces a hook.

Me too, Nat. I've done something recently that REALLY helps me:

**When Hitting your Driver, think of it as a 3WOOD**

What I mean is - my swing, setup, stance, and mental mindset gets freaked out when I pull out the "big D". But...........I hit my 3W great - when you've got a driver in your hand, tee the ball LOWER, and imagine you're swinging your 3W or 5W. This has helped me tremendously lately.

g'day

One of the reasons for pulling left (if the ball goes straight) is rotating the body over the ball before impact. This usually means that you did not remain where you were during the swing but made some kind of lateral movement forward. Try to keep the feeling that you are rotating on the spot (or in a barrel as they say) with your head steady behind the ball until the club is well through. HOpe this is useful to you?

i do the same thing as you do. I'm not always sure why or what causes it, maybe a combination of several, but i do know that if the right hand(right handed swing) takes over on the downswing, your right hand will turn the club over, as stated above in another thread, and you will pull or pull hook. Both hands need to work as a unit. I also have trouble of losing the club at the top and sometimes regrip it before the downswing, so i concentrate on holding on with both hands equally. hope this helps
