First Lesson Today

Thought I would share my experience with all of you. I had my first lesson today and was surprised how much I learned in just 40 minutes. First he had me take a swing then he told me to take what I believe to be a "half" swing. After I did these he had me look at the half swing on the video. I was amazed that my "half" swing was actually looked like a full swing I have seen others do! My full swing before was just way to over the top. So a few half swings later I was hitting it a lot more consistent. The next thing I learned is that I was sweeping at the ball, in other words I was getting under the ball hitting the grass and lifting the ball up with my club head thus just the bottom part of my club head was hitting the ball not the sweat spot. He had me hit more down on the ball, hitting the ball first then the ground, this is how you make divots. Needless to say my half swing and hitting down on the ball made my balls go further and straighter. If you are thinking of getting lessons I advise go ahead I learned a ton and scheduled two more lesson in a couple weeks.

Happy it's working for you. And your experience tells me that you know how to take a lesson. That's rare a rare quality and should serve you well in your future instruction.
