Ball Trajectory

As far as I can remember, my irons have produced a low ball trajectory (with the exception of the wedges). I have tried many things in an attempt to hit a high ball that lands softly on the green, namely, changing the position of the ball at address, moving my hands just above the ball not in front, etc. Nothing seem to work - any help out there?

I guess you're saying here that you're not pressing the hands forward as much, which is good. The only thing I'll add at this point is: practice finishing with the hands high...generally speaking, the higher the follow-through, the higher the ball flight. Please let me know of your results if you choose to try it.

Often a low trajectory is cause by a faster rhythm and a movement of the body across the ball on impact. This tends to lower the loft of the club and sweep the ball forward rather than using the loft to swing through the ball.

Try focussing on the spine alignment and the blade edge, relaxing then push back your club with centre and left arm together, get the feeling that you are not moving from your central rotation point and keep your head behind the ball until after you have swung through the line (about 40 degrees beyond the ball). The main idea is to rotate on the spot ( a braced flexed right leg) and not do any lateral movement.

I am not sure if this helps but would appreciate feedback if it does. (or not).:)

hit DOWN and accelerate thru the ball
a soft covered ball "prov 1 or strata" will help
into a head wind will help also ....forget spin with a tail wind
simply hitting the ball high "going over trees but still wanting a little distance " - go a club longer than normal ...ball forward of normal in your stance ..weight more on the front leg ...and use more wrist into the ball keeping your hands behind the ball....finish the swing high

You might want to investigate a low kick, soft tip shaft for your irons, assuming you don't have a major swing flaw.

Tried several suggestions today, follow through high; hold spine angle throughout swing; to mention but two, and they worked pretty good. Today I hit my 6 iron higher than I ever had. Many thanks for all of your suggestions. Are you guys teaching pros?
