Hi guys, i am in the market for wedges. I have around $150 to fully kit me out.
I can eithe buy 2 or 3 cheaper wedges or 1 cleveland or vokey.

Any suggestions?

i got some purespin wedges late last month
52-56-60 ........the 56 took some getting used to ....not the same bounce etc out of the sand
you can bring the 3 in for about $150 thru ebay
$40 US ...+postage ....which is the biggest factor
the 52 doesnt spin quite as well as my old vokey 52 ....but the bottom grooves on it were chewed out ...so it was dangerous as far as spin goes
lengthwise they fit in well with my irons ...10 mtrs longer than the vokey
thankfully they just "buff" the ball not tear the cover to screads like my old wedges did
cheap - yes .......they do the job tho

It's possible if your patient and watch e-bay close, you could pick up a couple cleveland 588 wedges, either new or like new, for around your 150.00 price range, but not sure about the shipping to NZ.

if i happen to see some, i'll pm you and let you know.

Be traditional and get three wedges. PW (Or Gap Wedge), SW, and LW. Don't get all four. Four wedges are way too many and they unnecessarily force a club out of your bag.

it seems like a lot of places have the cleveland 588 rtg wedges on sale for $60 these days. shipping from the us may be expensive, but maybe some of the places by you have similar deals?

ive carried 4 wedges for a year now ....
at the expense of a 3iron or 5wood .....in my set they do the same job, except the 5wood is better from the rough
used to leave out the 3wood .....but a 3wood is the secret to good golf ...the driver when and only when you need it
i carry a 7wood tho
seriously thinking of leaving my 60deg out on windier days.....thats when i feel its riskier to use ...and when i miss the 3iron or 5wood ..........
7wood is much the same as the 3iron on calmer days ....but way more forgiving
wish we could carry 15 clubs ....

Golf shops in New Zealand put hideous markups on golf gear
Nothing worng with buying preloved gear ...cruise the cash converter shops or pawn shops ....

I just have the PW from my irons set and my 54-degree wedge...I've really never felt a temptation to get a lob wedge, but I've heard good things and my bro loves his (58, not 60, but I guess it's the same). I think when I renew (replace) my set, I'm getting 54 and 60. You can see what I would get from my sig...it's gonna put me back at least $1400 Cdn unless I find some REAL deals
