I personally am guided for pace by the speed at which my centre can rotate away and towards the target. The triangle is maintained even though the arms are swinging 'up' and 'down' during the rotation. Everthing must be 'together' at impact and it cannot be together if they are acting separately at the start, I feel. What do you think?
In the backswing I do not even think of the lower body at all, and my hands stayed close to centered in front of my chest although they do move a little over the right should near the top of the backswing. Lower body turns a little automatically without thinking about that. Not exactly sure what you are asking though, sorry about that.

Duffing is ok....getting frustrated with it is counter productive isn't it? It is the desire for an outcome or result that causes fear. The best golfers always play 'in the moment'. That is, whatever went before is gone. Now they try to execute the best possible shot they can. They have routines to ensure that they get into this frame of mind before every shot. Do you have a routine?

We can never change the past. This is another 'obvious' statement that most of us never really get or believe. The past is always influencing us as long as we get stuck in it. But as soon as we remain present with what is going on now ......the actual swing, and our focus is on relaxing and executing a positive swing through the ball to the target. That is the whole of golf. All of the rest is peripheral and distracting. As long as we are distracted by the other stuff, we will never play our best golf. If you could take this advice to heart and use it, you would be the best golfer in your school perhaps, but more importantly you would be the happiest golfer in your school. Best of the best to you.
Thanks a lot for the advice, if I can only remember to take to heart some of what you said. Any recommendations for just that? Because I say, "alright I'm gonna remember to do x or y next time I go out and play" but I ALWAYS forget. Maybe it is truly that my mind is closed and information is coming in one ear and going out the other. But it doesn't feel that way, as I truly feel like I WANT to learn and try something new. Maybe there's a mental conflict here.

So I will attempt to think about target orientation, and not getting frustrated over the past, when I play tomorrow, and just swinging freely and taking what I Get.

Try this RobertG. On the back of your card, give yourself a rating from 1-10 per shot (or per hole) if you prefer, of how well you stuck to your original intention. For example if you maintained a target focus on the swing, give yourself a rating of 6-10. If you did not maintain the target focus, 1-5.

Do not attempt to work on more than one thing at a time. Of course you might like to rate your degree of 'not getting frustrated' for each hole too.

So at the end of each hole give yourself a rating from 1-10 on your calmness.

The important thing is not to try to 'fix' any thing. Just see if you can get a better rating, do you follow. Would love to hear how you go if you use this. These are known as 'process goals' and take the pressure off results.

Keep learning, it is what the game (and life) is all about.

Thanks for the advice, I will try that when I go out on Monday, Labor Day; the day before school starts!

I played horribly today at the resort course near me here in NC, where I am currently vacationing until tomorrow.

Ugh, don't even want to think about golf, I'm so depressed... yet I do!
