I've been looking at the Medicus 2000 and Momentus training aids and was wondering if you guys had any experience with them. I'm trying to find some consistency in my swing in terms of not topping the ball and get rid of the occasional slice.
I'm a noob @ 2 months and purchased both the momentus and medicus.
However, I can swing the medicus without breaking the hinge and I know for sure that I do not have a correct swing. I don't know if the momentus does anything for me either except keeping the neighbors cats off my porch. I think these tools can be helpful but I don't think they are the ultimate answer to finding the "right way" to swing a club. I much prefer a full length mirror and a 7 iron in my hand and my video camera on a tripod at the range.

Thanks in advance.
I had a really flat backswing but could still hit the medicus evey time by starting the backswing with my hands. It turns out that starting my swing with my hands is why it was so flat. The medicus can be manipulated into not breaking.
wow no positive feedback about either of these huh? anyone have any other experiences?
a friend of mine recommended the momentus over the medicus b/c he said it teaches a better swing, but he's a lot more of an experienced golfer than i am, so i dunno if that applies as much to me.
I have the Medicus 2000 and I think it is a good swing trainer aid. I think it helped me with identifying when my swing was coming over the top and if I remained on plane on my backswing. The Medicus is used as an aid and will not teach you true fundamentals with grip, stance, and alignment. So yes, you can trick the Medicus into not breaking, but you have to pay attention to the fundamentals. If your fundamentals are sound, the Medicus will work for you.
I utilize the momentus in my teaching sometimes to get the student to feel the club swinging on plane. Regardless of your fundamentals, the medicus is great for tempo but it does help to have proper fundamentals.
One thing they don't advertise with the Momentus is the fact that it can quickly cure the player that likes to "flip" at their chip shots. With the weight distributed in the shaft, the swingweight is very light and therefore very easy to get a student who was "flipping" to use their shoulders for the chip shots.
1. Times the set of the hands in the back and or forward swing (sets will be different for different kinds of swings)
1. It can help the timing of the release (squareness of contact at impact)
2. Helps to connect the arms to the body turn.
3. Builds better timing and rhythm though out the swing.
4. It show the person what needs to be done visualy and for others it helps inhance the feel of a correction that may be needed to be made
