i've heard that it's best to go the range after a round...
so i did this today - played 18 shot a meager 96, then went to the range afterwards....i couldn't hit **** at the range...
is it a bad idea to practice after 18? fatigue perhaps?
how does one improve?...i hit the range all other days that i'm not on the field, but even so, boy is it hard to find consistency...
is there ever a time one feels completely comfortable with there swing for all clubs?....hmmm...just frustrated, anyone empathize?
Golf is the hardest game. Surfing is the only thing that is as hard, IMHO. I'm a 10 handicap, and it still drives me bonkers. I mean, what other game can a 14 yr. old girl beat 99.9% of the population?
Sometimes it's best just to take a break and revisit the game later. That's speaking from 9 years of experience.
Mav....i wish i could play like Iceman...btw, that's a great website...is it really possible to go from single handicap to hacker?...i'm looking for steady improvement but sometimes practice don't make perfect...
epark99,
How you shot at the range. Do you think it was the same way you stroked the ball during play? If so, then the range session after playing can be beneficial. We all will swing bad or get into a swinging slump. I think it is imporant to know how to get out of it. So this range session may teach you what you were doing wrong versus your other good driving range sessions.
What I really hate is hitting well during warm-up and not striking the ball the same during play. That becomes frustrating...I did it this past weekend.
another frustrating situation: topping your woods. i'm sure all of you have experienced the one time (or several) where you take your 3 wood out after a nice drive on a par5 take a smooth backswing, and then (whoosh!!!) - ball topples on the ground about a 100 yards - low line drive.
any tricks to remedy this embarrassing moment?
Sorry, couldn't resist. If you are shooting 96, then there are undoubtedly any number of remedies. Plus, one shot isn't indicative of anything. Darren Clarke shanked one nasty at the PGA, but that doesn't mean he needs a swing overhaul.
