ANTI-AWARENESS . seeing the line

Yesterday was an interesting outing , on the 2nd hole i started getting a migraine headache
it started with a huge blindspot in my periferal vision
anything left of basically center was gone
i couldnt see my playing partners standing beside me on the green and the instant i started my backswing there was no club , it just vanished
So twice i find myself with 10 footers downhill and across the green , a putt im always anxious about
being left handed the sloping green or "break" was taken out of the equation , i couldnt see it !
all i could see was the ball and the line
i slotted both putts into the middle of the hole
Going out today and will try pulling the peak of my cap down to block the negitive energy created by the dark side of the force "break"
anythings worth trying huh .

I read a tip on putting in one of the golf magazines a couple of years ago that suggested something very similar to this. Ignore the hole!

In fact the body already 'knows' where the hole is. If the person can get out of their own way and let the putt 'putt itself' as rawhiti did, it will 'always' find the hole. The 'distraction' of having a migraine and a 'blind eye' means that the putt was allowed to happen while the 'trying mind' was distracted.

The cerebellum coordinates all bodily movement and providing there is at least a superficial assessment of the green and hole, it has recorded what needs to be known. (It is also behind my 'spooky' left hand which always points to the target line when relaxed) The reason it is hard to utilise this fact is the interference of the conscious 'trying' mind of the person putting

Tim Galwey, author of the Inner Game, based an entire book on methods of distracting the 'trying mind' in order to play 'out of your head'.

I just hope raw does not need to get migraines in order to putt well
