All-time best golf tip

Change your grips.
I tend to keep my grips changed regularly but allowed my woods to get pretty bad. I was wondering why my driving went to heck.
1) I'll never use Winn grips again. They wear out in like 2 months(if that long). Sure they feel great that day you get them but they become slippery so fast!
2) replaced them with Golf Pride Tour Wraps and the driver problem instantly was cured. Gained about 15 yards on my drive because I now could actually SWING without fear of losing the club out of my hands or havine the club head turn in my hands!

If it's been a year, change the grips. You will be amazed. Of course the Tour Wraps last like forever so if you have them you may not need any.

Try a real leather wrap, they are expensive but will last a very long time. Another nice feature is you won't need a golf glove with a leather wrap. It's the original real golf grip.

How do they hold up? Do they dry out and get slippery? Always wanted to try them and just never had.
NIce thing about these Tour Wraps is.....just wash them and they get tacky all over again. They are a little slick in wet weather however. You have to have a good dry towel with you.

They last almost forever, with just a little bit of care. They were the standard since the beginning of the game. The cost of real leather is what brought about the industry for rubber and synthetic grips. Give them a try, about $12.00 a club for good ones, if you can do it yourself, $20.00 a club otherwise. Also, it was the advent of the rubber, and synthetic grips, that brought about the golf glove. The original purpose of the golf glove was to restore the feel that was lost by using non-leather grips.

Well, related to the club grips. I was hitting balls at a rance and an old cranky guy told my grip **** basically. At first I just wanted to tell the guy to shut up with his unsolicited advice. I just started playing at the time and never realized how bad my grip was. I made changes and I saw vast improvement with my swing and ball striking. Old cranky dude was right.

Well cranky old geezers can be right, but I think the gist of this thread is about changing the grips on your clubs.

When given the choice of playing golf or going to work; go to work. If this takes any kind of thought, you deserve to go to work, instead.

Replacing worn grips regularly is a helpful tip. If you're looking to restore the tacky feeling on a synthetic grip just spray them lightly with Windex Ammonia Window Cleaner after cleaning them. You'll be amazed at the tacky feel. I keep a small spray bottle of Windex in my trunk and use it regularly.

Thanks for the tip leaguegolf! I never dreamed that that would help! BTW, I recently had my irons changed. I wanted Golf Pride Tour Velvet, but it turned out that because my shafts were wider than standard (they a little larger than .620 I think), so I couldn't use them. Had to get the same grip that is on the TM 500 series drivers. I'm going to get my mizunos in the Tour Velvet most likely.
