ive been into golf for about 1 month and i had visited the driving range a total of 4 times on my first visit i hit 150 yrds, on the 2nd visit i hit a 180, and on the 3rd i hit 200 and on the 4th visit i hit a 250.. the thing is that that i only hit it once a visit and good distance and the rest of the basket is put to waste with bad shots im wondering if anyone can give me some tips on what i might be doing wrong and why i can hit it good once and bad all the rest of the times?

Welcome to the forums PebbleBeach831. PB is indeed among the nicest in the world.
There is absolutely no way anyone here is going to be able to help you with the information provided.
It's like asking "why won't my car won't start?" Sure, we can give you some starting points, but it ain't gonna help much.
Welcome to GR and the most frustrating game on Earth. I must say, if you have only been playing for 1 month, I can tell you EXACTLY what is wrong given the information you have provided...you are attempting to RUN BEFORE you WALK. Put the driver back in the bag. Take out your 7 or 8 iron. Place your ball on a tee in the middle of your stance with your feet about 1 inch apart. Now hit ball after ball until a majority of them are sailing well. THEN you have permission to hit your 3 or your 5 wood. Once you can hit the fairway 75% of the time with your 3 wood, then work on the driver. Until that point, as you are finding, the inconsistency of building a golf swing with a driver will drive you nuts and you aren't gaining anything by doing so. Of course I must add, if you haven't already, TAKE a lesson from a PGA/LPGA professional...this will cut down A LOT of frustration later on as well as getting you started on the right track so when you finally do take a lesson, the instructor doesn't have as many bad habits to undo.

Balance balance balance. You need to teach yourself to move your body with the motion just as you do in any other sport.
RUN !!! dont walk to your nearest Pro and start this journey on the right foot. Your local pro who should be able to put you on a very do able plan to get you the desired results. the money that you spend w/the Pro is going to save you major headaches days, months and years from now. today, you are just hitting balls w/out any focus, goal or reason why the ball is behave the way it is. The Pro will help you with all of that, find one that is in your price range. Often we think that money is too much, trust me. It is easier to learn the right way, than trying to erase bad habits.
find a Pro 30 - 60 dollars and write down the thing they suggest you to work on, you will be surprised how quickly you get to your goals with a plan.
You have seen nothing yet, once you get on the field it gets much worst, I gave up practicing on the mat, completely different from grass, actually I am afraid to hit the grass, so I miss the ball a lot...
I also stopped using any woods, just trying to get my driving from the fairway reasonably consistant with irons before I go back to woods...
I played 9 holes today, except for a disastrous 5 par difficult hole, I did much better than previously, not great distance, but all shots went, and went straigth...
