Arrow The art of Seaming

Hello Golfers,

I would like to solicit this audience for feedback on the art of Seaming. This is where on premium balls (ProV's) the printed ProV is Tee'd up in a vertical line at your target. This is noticable from behind the Tee'd Golf ball.

I did some very basic research and found that the ProV is sealed on this very line all around the ball. I further found out that several touring Pro's swear by this, including the Golden Bear.

I further have found that non premium balls are not contructed the same way and seaming has little to no effect on ball trajectory.

please give me your Pro's and Con's ???

personally, I swear by it !!!!! but always interested in other opinions

I was "seaming" before I knew what seaming was. That's just how I've always teed my ball. I saw an article that explained that the ball elongates more on contact by seaming and that results in a longer ball flight. I'm not a scientist so I can't confirm that, but if Jack says it helps.......that's good enough for me!

I spin my Pro v1's in a Check Go that finds the heavy spot. I then mark that line on the ball by going over it in a marker so it shows up better. I tee the ball with the line vertical as well as putt with it that way(easy to line up also). The heavy spot is not always on the seam. It is amazing that the ball ends up heavy side down in the fairway after teeing off about 75% of the time. The ball seems to fly straighter and put better this way.
