This most defiantly seems to be the biggest problem among us mid to higher handicap golfers .i have posted on this earlier this week and am working on it too, one of the replies got was to feel like you are pulling the butt of the club back to the ball wich seems to work for me, i've just come back from the range i hit 300 balls and on the last 100 it felt like i made some good progress the first 200 were the same old high with no distance then i really got a feeling of ball then ground after concentrating on pulling the butt back to the ball from the top it feels very odd at first, almost like i was hitting a stone but the ball flew staight and true and bout ten or more yards further. is this the feeling you better ball strikers get?

Understand the principle of the swing plane. Takeaway and swing on the SAME one.

Well, at least your releasing the club head. Just got back from some practice today and I was told that I'm not releasing the club head at all. He gave me some drills to work on and I'm trying to visualize doing it my swing instead of just sweeping through the ball. When I do right though, if feels good, really good.
