Looking for course recommendations

I'm driving down from PA to Richmond to play golf on Saturday. (Can't take the snow any longer..) Can anyone out there recommend a course in the Richmond area? I am considering: The Crossings, River's Bend, Glenwood, Birkdale, Belmont, and Brookwoods. I'd appreciate either critiques of those courses, or suggestions for other courses.

Thanks,

Solomookie

It's a matter of degree... We have about 4 inches of snow still on the ground from earlier snows, and another inch was added today. My understanding is that the snow in the Richmond area today was only the nuisance variety, and it's going to be 49° and breezy to dry it out tomorrow. Saturday is going to be 55° and sunny.

I'm not expecting Hawaii conditions, but it's got to be a lot better than PA. Your animated icon is probably right. I'm crazy, but it's an insanity brought on by 4 week golf drought!

Humor me, and give some suggestions..

That's not exactly true. While no pro plays from frozen bunkers, I have seen video tips that suggest putting from a greenside bunker if there's no lip.

Well folks, to all you nay-sayers, I'll let Mr. Icon do the talking.

The course was soft and played long, but it was definitely playable. The sun was out, it ended up around 56°, and I had a great time. As to frozen bunkers, I saw a couple, but the three bunkers I hit into were all in good shape, and I converted two out of three.

All in all, the drive was well worth the enjoyment of getting to play. So, as I drove home, you know what I had goin'?
