Still Having Problems

Hi there! Just looking to see if anyone has any ideas what I'm doing wrong.
The symptoms include:

* Shanks with any club higher than an 8-iron
* Avg distances:
PW - 40yds
9I - 50yds
8I - 60 yds

* Very vertical flight path
* If I attempt a full swing, the ball doesn't go farther, just higher.
Distance remains the same (no good), but very likely to shank if I try a full swing.
* Often, ball is pushed to the left (I'm a lefty).

*** ?'s ***

Is there something wrong with my...
weight shift?
wrists?
club face?
impact?

This has been going on for months and nothing works!
HELP!

I would just pony up the 50 or so bucks and get a lesson. Probably not what you were looking for, but it will be money well spent. Good luck.

After you book your lesson, think about the grip because that's most likely where your teacher will start. You worry to much about what you don't understand. Keep the fundamentals simple and think smooth slow tempo. A good practic session may be 2 large buckets with only your wedge. Chip it, wack it, just get a good smooth feel.

BlimpyJones,

I'm not trying to be cruel here but if those are your iron distances, you're not going to find the help you need here. If you're serious and over 7 years old (60 yard 8 irons puts that in doubt) you should have a professional look at your swing immediately. :nodsmiley

As everyone has said, lessons are most important for you at this time and here is a thought:

As the club goes up and down so does the ball (higher and shorter shots).

As the club goes back and through the ball goes lower and longer.
