1. Aim (I like to aim a couple feet in front of the ball)
2. Comfortable, athletic balance at address (this helps me stay on the right correct plain at impact)
3. Hands must pass ball before impact. (seems to create lag)
4. Hit in to out (draw)
I know this may seem simple but it's my mantra..lol
The only things I think about are:
1) Aiming
2) Making sure I have a good setup (ball position, etc)
3) How I want to hit this shot (high, low, fade, draw, whatever)
3) Visualizing a good slow takeaway ligning the club up parallel to the ball (this often makes me swing back slower since a fast takeaway is a killer)
4) Hit it and make sure I dont come out a little too early
I usually think about my aim, then my thoughts seem to veer, ADD like, towards all kinda of other things such as purple monkeys, marshmellows, and sunflowers...Did
i say sunflowers??? I meant monster trucks and hunting...lol...Seriously, my thoughts after my aiming, and address, are wayyy random!
I think of:
1. Aim
2. I'm going to hit it straight down the middle and have a good shot
3. Then I think of the song I have stuck in my head
4. then I just blank out and can't think of anything.... weird lol ... seems to work good though!
Now... what I think before I putt that's a different story hahaha
1. Picture the shot I want to hit
2. Aim, I usually pick a spot...like hkmiz
3. blank...my brain would just get in the way at this point
4. go
People ask me this question all the time, what are your swing thoughts? they are always surprised when I say...nothing, swing thoughts are for the range...
