I am still hitting hooks and full draws this year dispite my work in the offseason. I am in Myrtle beach now and i hate to spoil a nice week so i hoping to get a few words of advice from you guys.
Pretty basic problem. I am making good contact, my ball flys striaght at the target at first and then my ball just draws and draws and draws. Sometimes its a full out hook. My clubface is square in my backswing, but when i get to impact the face is closed. This is a problem with all my clubs. I also noticed today that i was hitting some of my shots off the toe of my clubs.
Whatever the cause is, it has been my problem for well over a year now, and i just cant change my ball flight. I cannot hit a fade if i tried with a full bucket of balls either. I have worked very hard with my alignment this past offseasn, and i was told today that my setup looks spot on. I also have a nuetral grip and i have worked with the momentus so i feel my grip is good.
Please help guys. ANY thoughts or advice is NEEDED!
Think of the ball rolling form the heel to the toe of the club face at impact (this is opposite of the hook rolling the ball from toe to heel). You will feel like the butt end of the club stays infront of the clubface well into the finish. You will also feel as though your fourarms never cross (club never releases).
You may even think of cocking the wrists and hold them cocked through impact (set and hold).
Then practice all three shots, hook/draw (closed stance) - fade/slice (open stance) - straight (square stance), allways in this order.
Gook Luck

Hit some shots with your left foot back a ways. This will force you have an out to in swing path. Then hit some shot with your normal stance, and try to duplicate that swing. Good luck!
If your grip is neutral and your face is still closed at impact, as a quick fix, I would suggest that you grip firmer with your left hand, and lighter with your right hand (I assume you are right handed). This will help prevent the clubface from over-rotating.
When you get home, see a pro. All of us are guessing and I suspect your problem is subtle and will require video in slow motion to properly analyze.
on your downswing maybe you are getting stuck with your rear elbow when it reaches your hip, which can cause an early release and therefore making it hook, draw. I had this problem for four-five months and no matter what I could not hit a fade either. once I became clearer of my hip on the dowsing I learned how to hit a fade.
The first thing Im gonna say is check your grip. I had the same EXACT problem for almost a year and it just wouldn't go away. Turned out all it was was my grip was just a little to strong.
