Putting under pressure

So lately my putting has gone severely downhill. And it always happens when Im in groups of people and I step up to hit my last shot, usually anywhere between 5-1 ft from the hole. For some reason I keep missing these short putts, ala Phil Mickelson. Does anyone have any tips that could help?

Like I said in the other thread, I miss low and high. You know it drives me crazy that I can drop a 10 footer without even thinking about it, but when it comes to a little 4 footer I have problems

all i can say is that if you miss it left or right consitstantly your either pulling it or pushing it. And to fix that check to see if your putter face is open or close. another thing is if you miss it high or low consistently then you aren't reading it right on every breaking putt there is something know as an apex, or center of the arc line for a breaking putt) you must aim just above the apex to make a putt at the right speed
sorry if you don't understand it is hard to explain

another thing could just be your confidence

I've heard that practice using the SpellCheck function greatly improves your putting.

Just curious, do you practice your short putts? Putting is all about practicing IMO. When you practice enough to know you'll make it, makes it a lot easier on the course.

for 2-4 foot puts i usually just get my line and trust the swing and if i miss its usually because I'm not used to the speed of the greens yet and not because i push or pull. Straight back and straight in.

well that could be your problem the putting stroke is suppose to arc. when you bring it back it should arc towards you and then the follow through should arc towards you. try it If you don't understand i'll try to find a website

I've noticed for ages that you spell 'always' like 'alwase' lol!

anyway back on topic.... I would say you just try to take your putter straight back and through, and just think it's like any other putt on the course - not that it's a good idea to take advice from me though.

This is not necessarily true. Straight back and through is a perfectly fine putting style, especially on short (< 10 feet) putts. Ask Tiger. Just google straight back and through putting ... there are dozens of golf instruction web sites that will confirm this. Add Tiger to your search for his thoughts on the subject.

Meh, 5 words correct isn't bad. You could've gotten "I" but you didn't capitalize.
