Your best and worse golf tips?

Saw this in another site and thought it would be interesting to see what your best and worse tips are.

My best tip was from a good friend to concentrate on the front of the ball. Found that I get a lot better contact on the ball with less fat shots.

Worse closing my eyes when putting just could not get this to work

I received this advice from a guy that worked for Wilson golf at a demo days last summer. Narrowing my stance with my driver helped with accuracy for the rest of last year. Now just this last weekend I found out going back to a wider stance has helped... This is one odd game.

I would say the best and worst would have to be "Why don't you try golf?"...and then the lifetime of happiness and agony begins...

Both were from dad.

Best - Only swing thought - Hit down & through the ball.
Worst - Swing hard in case you hit it. I'm still paying for that one a couple times a round.

I have a fairly narrow stance for all shots, even with the driver. I feel I'm a lot more accuarate with a narrow stance opposed to a wide with the driver. For me personally I get the feeling I cannot transfer my weight properly to the right side with a big wide stance.

keeping in mind I'm talking about a stance that is right around shoulder width apart. I just see a lot of people have a stance that extends far past shoulder width, because I'm sure they read in Tiger's book to widen your stance a little for power. (that's great to use if you are the best player in the world and can do it, but the average amateur wont benifit from it IMO)

Ever since I have played I have had a wider stance with my driver, I feel better balanced and it delivers more power. People did play golf before Tiger came along.

Best tip- be the ball
worst tip- swing the same with every club

Worst tip-You can practice your swing indoors(Not when you are tall)

That's my favorite too. Don't stand so close to the ball after you hit it!
Worst tip-Your right shoulder is lower than your left at impact!
No kidding! My right hand is also lower on the shaft.

Best tip: Swing SMOOTH.

Worst tip: Keep your left arm straight. Followed closely by "Keep your head down" Both of these make me CRINGE!!!

Best Tip = Don't think when you swing, Vijay uses the word seven teen when he swings.
He says seven half way up on his backswing then teen when he starts his downswing when he completes his swing he has said the full word.

I tried this at the range the other day, I have to tell you that it works, I have to try it out on the course this weekend. You won't think about anything else. ( the tip is in this months Golf Magazine )

The worst Tip = Swing Easy, I can't swing easy it throws off my tempo and I pull the ball way right ( I am left handed )
