hi everyone, I'm steffie and I live about an hour south of New York City near the coast in New Jersey. I just started playing again after a hiatus to raise and spend time with my daughter. She's a teen and doesn't need me to be there 'all' the time now (or so she says ;) ) but I got the itch to get out and hit balls again. Hmm am I the only woman here? goodness I hope not. But, I've always loved the game, played in high school and continued playing after graduation. I've had the same set of clubs since the early 80's and can't believe the changes in teechnology now.
Hi Steffie and welcome to Golf Rewind, no, you're not alone from the ladies side of this sport/site. We have a female representation and welcome new ladies to the board anytime.
Yes, indeed, the equipment has come quite a ways, even the the last few years...I'd have to say most if it started to really hit the market back in '97 or '98 when Titanium made it's grand entry to the driver market and then fariway woods. Anyhow, welcome and see you around.
Hey steffies, welcome to the friendliest golf forum on the net!! Great to hear that you're able to spend time with your daughter out on the course. There are a few females on the forum, but not many who are actively involved in the discussions. We're hoping you can add to the list!!
Welcome, steffies! As already stated, there are a few ladies here, but we can always use more! Sure hope you find us friendly and helpful, and we look forward to hearing more from you.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! It's nice to feel welcome in a new forum. I'll try to participate in the forums as much as possible. ^^
Anthony, I had forgotten how much I loved the game in my time away. When a new friend asked if I golfed, I replied that I hadn't for many years and he invited me to join him on the course. I said, perhaps the driving range would be a better place, hehe. It brought back memories and slowly the rusty gate started moving a little more like it used to. Since then I've hit balls nearly every day (found the old shag bag, still full of balls) and played twice.

It is an amazing feeling when you finish your 1st game for a while, I have had a couple of breaks since taking up the game in 87 and even now (at 41) I still get excited at the prospect of playing if I have missed for a week or 2 (big kid really)
Now that I've been here a month I would like to say another BIG thank you to everyone. It's nice to feel so welcome here. I think that the friendliness really sets this forum apart from a lot that I've been on over the years. Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah to everyone!
