I'm a soon-to-be-freshman in college that has an interest in golf, and trying to pick up all he can.

Currently, i have no clubs, and the reason for that is because, well, frankly, I'm literally a beginner (I did take some lessons as a kid, but never followed up on them... and forgot it all).

So, I came here to read stuff, post stuff, and delve into the world of golf.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what to do to start off? I am hitting the USGA for golf rules. I might buy some clubs (a set, i think, for around $99, cheap of course, but, just starting), and a bag, perhaps. Any recommendations?

Also, any recommendations for learning about golf equipment in general? I just looked at the Golf Equip forum page. Eeks!

You might want to look at some Striker clubs, that was my first set when I was 7 or so, they are abou $100, and I always liked them. They were called Striker Pro Force, I believe.
