Hello Fellow Golfers!
I retired a couple years ago and took up the game for something to do August 4, 2005. I love it. Started off with a few lessons and just played my 50th round on Friday. I'll pretty much play anytime with anybody or alone. Living in the "Tidewater/Hampton Roads" area of southeast Virginia there is certainly no shortage of courses to play on. I have played Cahoon Plantation in Chesapeake most (19 times!) because it is close and they keep it in good shape. I have played on over 15 of the courses in the local area; e.g., Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Suffolk, Norfolk, Portsmouth and the Williamsburg area. My favorite so far - and most beautiful that I have played on so far -was the Golden Horseshoe (Gold Course) in Williamsburg. The Signature and Bay Creek (Eastern Shore) are also gorgeous courses but didn't hold a candle to the Golden Horseshoe. My next step is to get with a group and start playing in some local tournaments.
