Hello golfers. I'm Eddie and I live in Pensacola Florida. I just found these boards here today and thought they looked interesting. I play on a Mini Tour down here in Florida called the Gulf Coast Tour. Just wanted to say hello to everyone. Hope everyone has some big plans for the 4th tomorrow. Anyway, just saying hello.
Welcome to Golf Rewind, Eddie! We're happy to have you join us and hope you enjoy the forum! I love Pensacola. I have lifelong family friends that live in Pensacola and visited just about every summer growing up. My best friend moved to Gulf Breeze a few years ago, and I still love going there to visit.
Yeah, Pensacola is GREAT. The beaches are the best. The weather is most of the time GREAT (except for hurricanes). But other than that I LOVE it here. When was the last time you visted?
Welcome to GR, Eddie! I spent 10 years up on "The Emerald Coast". We lived in Ft Walton Beach (Mary Esther, actually!), left there in 1998. Former Air Force, and had a bodyshop in Navarre for a while. Didn't golf much back then, though.
Living down here in Sarasota now! Siesta Key is almost as pretty as those beaches up there!

The last time I visited my friend was a couple weeks before Ivan hit. Her home and kids homes were significantly damaged, so she and I started meeting up in Biloxi (Beau Rivage) once a month to let her get away from the mess. In fact, she and I had a weekend reserved at Beau Rivage when Katrina hit. Needless to say, that weekend didn't happen for us. Unfortunately, since we've been so tied up with Katrina stuff here, my friend and I haven't seen each other since my daughter's wedding in December.
That stinks she had allot of damage from Ivan. We were lucky, jsut lost allot of tress and some shingles. That storm REALLY messed some people up. We had no power for 19 days after that storm. We actually lived in our office for almost 3 weekes. Yeah I love Biloxi man. Well use to anyway. Havent been over since they got hit with Katrina.
Pensacola...spent summer of 1984 through late spring of '85 going to school at Corry Station.
Used to hang at a place called the Rathskeller, you got a card with all the beers they had from around the world on it. Once the bartender had checked off that you had drank 50, you got your own mug that hung over the bar that you and you only used when you came in. Took me 2 weekends to get mine (hey, I was young)...and I still have the mug here at home. I'd imagine that place is long gone - unlike McGuires', with will be there forever.
