This is my 2nd year playing and I've been lurking for some time now, the tips from my fellow GR friends are making the game very enjoyable and I want to thank everyone here providing help, tips, etc. for contributing to my new addiction Golf. Thanks again
I heard there are some absolutely amazing courses in northern Michigan. I just moved back to Indiana from GR (no, not golf rewind, Grand Rapids) ... sorry, had to get that in, everytime I see people post "GR" I think "Grand Rapids." Anyways, unfortunately I never took the chance to play much, just a few courses in GR.
I just moved here last year and never realized how many courses there are and during the week they have coupon specials 18 for $25 to $30 with cart or $7 for 9 if you wanna walk at McGuires. We try to play a different course each week so far we played 13 of 15 within 20 miles from home.Anyways before golf it was fishing and we would drive all the way from Detroit to steelhead fish at the 6th street dam in G.R.
Sounds like some great deals, plus I bet you have some scenic courses up there. I lived in G.R. for only one year and only met a few golfers but we were all pretty busy and we all just preferred to stay close to home.
That is quite some drive you made for fishing, must have been good. I met a few guys who enjoyed to fish and they always went to various lakes around G.R. but I never had anyone tell me they fished in the city.
Welcome from another michigander. Actually from Grand Rapids :)
Hi, where abouts in GR? I moved out in late June and the city actually grew on me a little. I used to live off 60th street near East Paris and the beltline. My address was Caledonia but it felt like Kentwood.
