I feel the bug... again.
First off, G' Day, everyone.
I'm Chris and I'm a golfaholic... again.
I started playing about ten years ago, when I joined my high school golf team as a freshmen. I picked up the game fairly quickly and was playing in the #1-2 spot on varsity from my sophomore through senior years. I went on to try out for a division 2 private school, but quit school a month after getting started.
After that, I took a little break from golf. A much needed break. The game had become a hassle to play. It seemed more of an outlet to take out aggression (broken clubs, broken bags, etc.), than a game of enjoyment. So, during my time off, I built a home, got married, had a kid. And now, at the beginning of the season, I figured it was time to start playing golf frequently, again.
What a difference a few years make. I've added 15-20 strokes to my eighteen hole score, I can't hit a drive straight to save my life, I even have trouble offering advice to others who are struggling. But you know what, I LOVE IT! The game has never been more fun and interesting than it is now. Maybe it has to do with the fact that finding time to golf between work and raising a family, makes me appreciate the game more, but whatever the fact, I can't wait every week until my Thursday night league.
In lieu of my re-acquaintance with the game, I remodeled my garage and threw in a golf simulator and I just purchased a new set of irons and a putter.
I think I feel the bug... again.
