hello from Indiana

Hi everyone. been reading here for some time and finally decided to register and post. I am a beginner had played in 4 company golf scrambles prior and this year got the bug. Been going to the range and working on my swing finally went to play yesterday at http://www.thegolfcourses.net/golfcourses/KY/3327.htm. shot a 108 and only lost 2 balls. Man what a hilly course. I believe I have found a new pass time.

Welcome aboard from a fellow Hoosier

Only 2 lost balls as a beginner, not too bad, when I started I used to go thru about 6 per 18

I've played Christmas lake a few times in scrambles it is about 20 minutes from the house. We are going to play in Evansville tomorrow evening after work don't know where yet. I am new to the game so don't have much experience.
You ever play Prides Creek in Petersburgh?

Actually played a Scramble there about a week ago, and have played it 2 or 3 other times this year. Only a 9 hole, but a nice course. Is Christmas Lake as tough as I have heard, Is usually rated as one of the states top courses, I know they hold some of the HS state tournament there also.

Hey there.

I grew up in Henderson, and played golf all over the Tri-State area in my youth. I loved played JJ Audubon GC because of the hills. I try to describe the first hole to people, but I don't think they can fathom just how deep of a chasm it is. Then there's the second and ninth holes.

A really nice beginner's course is Fendrich GC.

When I was growing up, one of the IHSAA Regionals was held at Christmas Lake (I guess it still is). I qualified for it my senior year, but could not play due to some prior committments.

Remember now I am still a beginner when we played Christmas lake I was mostly along for the beer and a day out with friends until this year. I enjoyed it but definately thought Audubon was harder but then again it was the first time I had ever played my own ball every shot. Ended up going to the driving range today after work to work on my swing. No golf this weekend we are going camping. But maybe thursday if we get off work in time.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
