Hi! My name is Tim. Great golf weather in K.C. today. Our Chiefs play here on sunday vs. the Bengals. My home course is Winterstone www.winterstonegolf.com which is the only course in America built over top an active mine. Every weekday between noon and 3PM there is rock blasting underneath which shakes the ground- lots of noise- but has no effect on teed up balls or balls on the green. Welcome aboard. This is a fine site with lots of friendly, helpful folks. By the way, I played at Picture Butte Golf Club in Alberta, Canada in July. The course is located adjacent to a coal mine and in years past a burning coal pile would occasionally throw ash onto several holes of the course. The signature hole is the par 3 #16 (140 to 190 yards depending on the markers played), with a frightful green built on a ledge near the mine and at a drop on some 50 feet from the tee. Does your course have any effects from the mine?
