Wow, you can hit a knuckle ball? Hahaha, just kidding. There's always spin on the ball, but if you mean that you want to back it up and look cool, you need to catch the ball clean, hit down on it like corwin said, and acclerate through the ball.

with a Short iron or Wedge, a ball made to spin back and the right course conditions.
im happy just stopping the ball where it lands or a few inches from where it pitches 99% of the time.
Some folks can spin the ball a lot, others not so much. With the 3 and 4 piece balls of today, it takes a lot of strength, clubhead speed, a little luck and probably a voodoo charm to back the ball up dependably. I've tried all of these without much success.
I think it is all of the standard answers, but most importantly a good lie and perfect contact...I can feel it right away when I've sent a spinner, sometimes to my dismay...clubhead speed is key as is a swing steep enough to take a divot (but not plant a garden)...good grooves, better ball, right green conditions all play a part...wish I could pull it off consistently as it can be a Murphy situation, sucking back when landing short and releasing when long...ooooh golf.......
A good place to start is what not to do. No scooping.
the higher the loft on the club the better.
Swing down on the ball. Accelerate through the shot and get the club to slide under the ball (sculling is bad). End with the club high.
It is not as hard as it seems. the real key is to the acceleration.
Please, don't complain to me if this doesn't work on a tight lie. The best spot is on a manicured fairway or short rough.
I have had the best with a 53 degree wedge wide open hitting out of a firm trap.
The first thing is, do you hit the ball past the hole on a consistent basis? I prefer to have the ball land and stop, not kick forward but not spin back at all. It's much easier to hit the ball at the pin if you don't need to worry about how much the ball spins to figure out how far to hit it.
