Hello, I'm a newly signed up member! My name is "SamT", and I live in Lewisville, which is a suburb of Dallas TX. My interests are Golf (of course!), BMW's (I just wrecked my 1988 325is last week), Motorcycling (Honda VTR-1000F "Superhawk" sportbike), Wristwatch collecting, and Cycling (I was a former USCF bicycle racer, but I still ride for fitness). I'm single, never married, no kids, 41 years old. This looks like a great forum, I'm looking forward to discussing golf, and getting to know everyone!
About my Golf game – I’m currently playing at a 11.44 hdcp, but friends of mine tell me that I’m the only 11 handicap who strikes the ball so well, but can’t score low. I typically shoot somewhere between 81 and 90, and my Driver Swingspeed varies between 102-108. I’m blessed with distance, as I work hard on my swing (with a terrific local instructor named Mark Maness at Golden Bear GC http://www.gbgc.net), and I play a draw as my favorite shot pattern. I consider myself a strong ballstriker, but I suffer from accuracy and concentration/mental issues at times, which inhibit me from consistently scoring in the 70’s. My goals are to score consistently in the mid/high 70's/low 80's, and start playing local tournaments.
I don't recall who referred me to this site, but I hope to learn a lot, and contribute as much as I can. I'm blessed to live in a large city (Dallas TX), so I always an demoing clubs and trying new equipment. Here's my bag of clubs:
Welcome, Sam. I'd like to be the first to welome you and mention that you'll soon be eligible to win your putter's exact twin. I'd also like to be the first to offer to take it off your hands if you win....
No problem Ted! In fact, I have a ProPlatinum Newport Mid-slant on it's way to me - I'll be letting you know! (I'm a sickie with buying/trading Camerons lately!)
Wrist watch collector? What type of freak are you? Welcome to the forum, glad to have ya.
Well................I kind of got into watch collecting when I was in sales - everyone around me was wearing Rolex Submarines, which is the "de-facto" wristwatch for the young successful guy.
So..........I ended up buying a breitling "SuperOcean", and it kind of went from there.
BTW - www.timezone.com is the best watch forum out there - it's great!
