No handicap yet...I hit the ball well but rarely score well (I know, I know short game is key).
I am just starting to get over a really bad temper that I have on the course. I guess I'm starting to respect how difficult this game is and am letting a good shot make up for the three bad ones.
Looking forward to discussing equipment and the game with everyone.

Welcome!!!!
I'll recommend to same thing to you I offered to Nutter Putter
Since you are new to golf my advise is to learn the importance of the short game 1st. It is the easiest part of the game to learn first...because the strokes are smaller. Don't get hung up on hitting it long and longer. Learn to score around the green and work your way back to the tee from the green as you progress in golf. Golf is about scoring. Remember you play the game by getting the fewest strokes per hole. More then half the strokes played in golf are played 100 yds in. Ask your PRO he'll agree.
Here's the method I think works best. Learn to putt...then to chip...then to pitch. Then you will be ready to learn the full swing and when you do learn it the rest of the game will be there waiting.
Enjoy the game!!
