After a bout with prostate cancer (get your PSA CHECKED) and a rehabbed knee I am playing again. Golf is the only game invented where you have a choice of weapon to hit something that is not moving.....I refuse to be defeated by a little white ball that I can knock around a field to finally hit it into a hole! I live on LI and look forward to getting back to Bethpage. I have not been out to see the Open because tickets were not too easy to obtain. The winds on LI have been ultra calm over the last 2 days and the scores have been lower than expected. I look forward to staying in touch.
Hi isnore, welcome to Golf Rewind! That's a great way to put it. "Golf is the only game invented where you have a choice of weapon to hit something that is not moving." LOL. Kind of makes it sound unfair when you put it that way but it's quite the opposite, isn't it? Look forward to hearing from you in the future.
Yo, 'snore! GREAT to hear that your PCa is well-managed! Guys need to understand about PCa, especially if they're nearing age 50. Here's the National Cancer Institute's website about prostate cancer:
Welcome isnore ( hmmm - - interesting nom de plume, don't know if I'd admit to that?). Let me know when you can book Bethpage Black one weekend and I'll join you!
Bethpage Black!! I probably will have to wait until the Fall before losing balls on this beauty again. My wife and I are soon to be first time grand parents and golf will be a day to day situation (getting on the Black is half the battle).
Um, Dad? In all seriousness, my dad just went through prostate surgery last year and a knee operation the year before. Hope all goes well on your recovery. My dad has made a 100% recovery. Had the surgery over the winter months and did not disrupt his golf schedule.
I don't know how I missed this post earlier, but a late welcome is better than none at all. I'm glad that you're back playing golf after your physical problems. Now, you're going to have grandfather problems: babysitting! Your own children will now seem to think that you have nothing better to do than to raise theirs!
