Newbie in every sense of the Word...

Just started to get into this game as it seems to be popular at work, and I'd like to be able play well enough to accept invites to play with confidence when I'm a little older.

As with everything in life these days, I can't do it without advice from the net, so thought I'd look for a nice golf forum to frequent, and out of the two I've browsed, this place definitely looks the friendlier.

I've been down to a couple of ranges now maybe 8 or 10 times with a cheap driver, 7-iron and lofting wedge (don't ask) that I acquired, and although things are still a bit shakey, I am enjoying it, and hope to be ready to play in the spring league at work with a bit more work.

New years resolutions include picking up a starter set of clubs to get me going, currently debating between the 2006 Hippo OS4 pack at £120, and the Ram Concept X at between 140-150 quid, once I get my clubs bought, and return home after xmas this weekend, I'm hoping to set-up a few lessons too to see exactly how much work I'm going to need!

Anyway, enough rambling, and Hello everyone

Welcome aboard. You'll enjoy this fine forum. I have been playing a Hippo driver for the past year and love it.
