Hi all! Just thought I'd say hello, and a thanks to Victor for noticing my golf blog and pointing me this direction. Seems like a good forum!
I thought this was going to be a good breakout year for my golf game, but thanks to less than regular play and softball season starting up, its been less than spectacular. Hoping to change that before the leaves start changing, though!
I know, I tell myself every year to pick one or the other, and I can't!! Softball is such good, *free* exercise, and I'll never be able to give golf up. Fortunately, softball season is winding down just in time for scramble season! :)
Fremont, eh? I was born in Tiffin, moved up near Toledo when I was 4, and have lived in Columbus for 7 or so years. I know the area and its courses well!
Softball was never "free" for me. There's the equipment, the gas used traveling to and from parks and tournaments, and the beverages that seem to be such a big part of that game Fun? Definitely! Free? Definitely not!
true, but considering I've used the same spikes for 7 years, and the same glove for probably 12 or so, those costs are long since forgotten.
Dropping 15, 20, 30 or whatever dollar amount on a round of golf is a very pleasurable way to spend money, but more than it costs each time I step on the softball field.
(And the beers are usually a pretty even race between both activities. )
yes tonyg dont let that golf swing mess up your golf game
ugh, too late. I played 9 this evening, and took about 5 holes to get off the tee decent at all. Everything feels right, then at impact, I feel my right foot come up on my toes and my left foot (I'm a rightie) slide about 4 inches forward. Not good.
I finally started getting off the tee decent (though not straight), and hit a VERY nice 5 iron into a 185 yard par 3. (It hit pin-high, but released about 15 feet to the back fringe, dammit!) Unfortunately that was on #8.
