Hello, everyone! Just wanted to step into the clubhouse and say hello. Had not picked up a club in 5 years until this past Friday, and suddenly the bug has bitten ... HARD!
Ordered all new equipment this weekend, and can't wait for it all to arrive. Even so, took my old Top Flites out for a spin both yesterday and today and have hit 5 buckets since Friday. I was hoping that many of my bad habits had disappeared (namely the duck hook that plagued my driver), and I am quite happy to report that seems to be the case. Could not believe how well I hit the ball, my considerable layoff notwithstanding.
Having had quadruple bypass surgery 17 months ago (and by all accounts a remarkably successful recovery), my return to the grand old game should help supplement my trips to the gym and bring a welcome return to the outdoors after a dreary winter.
I am a 52-year old father of two college-aged daughters and am still married to their mother after 23 years.
I look forward to reading and learning and occasionally posting. Hit 'em straight!
, bama...you're in good company here. We have members from all walks of life from all over the world, including bypass survivors, fathers and even photo pros, lol. Hope those old habits don't creep back in but my experience tells me they may at least pop in for a visit. Looking forward to talkin' golf with ya.

You're so right, Shaderunner ... I didn't mean to give the impression that all of them went 'string straight'. But unlike 'the old days' I could tell immediately if I got quick from the top because the result would be a quick pull hook to the left. Ironic how those shots feel so 'pure'. LOL! But I was encouraged that I could immediately correct it for the next 4 or 5 attempts ... now just gotta 'get my mind right', and I'll be halfway home.
