I'm a 36 year old mom of 3 who almost turned pro when I found out I was pregnant with my first son (hence the backup journalism career ). Although I'm a lady golfer just now returning to the game, I play with men's clubs, from the champion tee, and with military guys - in other words, I'm not your average girlie golfer :)
Back when I was growing up I played since age 3, and Jan Stephenson was my idol. I believe women's golf needs a makeover and I'm all for making it appealing to men because more viewers mean larger purses for the LPGA.
I am returning to the game - nervous. I went and hit balls for the first time a couple of months ago and knocked it out of the ballpark - like riding a bike. But as you know, getting on a course and staying in the fairway and out of water hazards, sandtraps, and the rough is a different beast.
I joined this site to regain my kinship with the golfing community. Hope it's okay that I'm a girl :)

Welcome to Golf Rewind! Of course, girs are allowed. Sounds like you have a game that can hang with anyone, male or female. Looking forward to reading more of your contributions in the future.
Wow, I saw the journalism part, but I missed the 'almost turned pro' the first time I read the introduction post! GirlieGolfer: Are you still involved with professional golf, through your backup career?
