Welcome to Golf Rewind and especially if you're from Charlotte. I lived in Mint Hill and Matthews for about 15 years. I was there for the opening of Charlotte Links, Divide, Charlotte National, Emerald Lakes et al. Dave Moore built a nice course at Charlotte National but I've heard some not so good things about the condition. Lots of nice courses in and around the area.
Is it safe for me to presume you've played at Cheraw?
What part of Charlotte do you live?
