Howdy from central Michigan

Checking in from just south of Lansing.

I've read the sticky at the top and wondered if it was OK to post links to courses for recommendation purposes?

I was in Ont. a couple weeks ago. Drove thru Oshawa on my way up to a resort on Stoney Lake. Played a round at a course up there called Wildfire.

Hoped you enjoyed your game and stay at the resort. Should you come back this way to golf you can check out, google, Golf Durham region. It lists a number of courses.

Off Topic, but wasn't Fred Trost from Bath? Sorry to hear of his passing.

Re: Howdy from central Michigan

Hello there from the Gaylord area, if you'd like to come up this way I can get you a killer deal on the golf courses at the resort I work at. 25 dollar rounds when the regular price is 120 for a round, employee guest fee is what you'd be paying. I work at Treetops Resort, so anyway, just letting you know I'm up here, I just started golfing not long ago, so I'm proud of myself when I come in under double par, with my goal being as close to double par as possible for the time being.

Re: Howdy from central Michigan

Thanks for the invite, Adam. I'll keep it in mind. I don't get up there much, but have played some of the courses in the area. The ones I've played are: The Loon, The Natural, Marsh Ridge and Grandview (closer to Kalkaska) I've also played the Chief and Hawk's Eye by Shanty Creek. Anyway, $25 at Treetops is awesome. Play as much as you can and if you can, take a couple lessons. Next thing you know, double par is down to double bogey.

I play for free due to being an employee, guests still have to pay but anyway.

Yes , you are correct , Fred had his HQ in bath for many years , he lost the new nice building when he got sued for saying a product did not work . but he then rented a a old building in town . He was know as the Local A$$#(@! though . not a very friendly person off camera . we are the home of Hawk Hollow , Eagle eye and Timber Ridge . all rated in the Michigan Golf magizine as top courses in the state . witch is funny , because if you blink at the wrong time , you will miss the town of Bath .
