New golfer, New member to this site:)

Hi There everyone. I joined this forum to get some tips to my golfgame and maybe get some golf buddies on my msn list to discuss golf game and their progress on.

A little bit about myself and my golf game.

I just started in August this year, so Im not all that yet, although I have had decent progress.

For now I use a half set of clubs, mostly Prestige and One Oylo club wich is my nine iron.
I have these things to work on my swing: Coming outside to in, increase my lag and increase my flexibility. There are other issues as well, but those are the most important.

My HCP is 34,5 wich is allright, concidering my short time in this game. But Im already 22 so I reckon I will never make much better than 0 i HC, if I ever reach there, which is a bit sad since Ive fallen inlove with the game, but I can enjoy it on a hobby level alteast.

My five iron goes about 150 yards now, but with variable consistency and my longest shot was about 220 yards with a wood, but that only happened once so I don`t se myself as a player with capacity beyond 150, but even there Im not consistent, But we`ll work on that.

And my nickname here? Well its a little lame, but it represents wich clubs I master best and that I want to focus on becoming good with my irons. I believe I will benefit the most from that point of attack to my golfgame. Max because my name is Mats wich is a Scandinavian name wich translates to Max international :)

If you didn`t bother to read it all, thats fine, I can`t blame you:). But I hope that someone thinks it could be interesting to teach me abit, or have some nice discussions on messenger for instance, on the great game of golf :)

Cheers

Sounds to me like you need a lesson from a pro...Don't spend too much time listening to amateurs , they may give you advice that gives you a bad habit. I've never played with anyone that enjoyed golf and played badly all the time...TAKE LESSONS

Well, I hear that. Even though I don`t really listen to all advice I am given discussions will atleat make me (us) start thinking and that can never be a bad thing.

Have not had any lessons yet, only the required training with a pro to get a green card.

Also, Shawn Clement have tutoured me some online.

I don`t really like the golf pro we have here, so online toutering might work just as well or better? That beeing me uploading a video and he responding to that.

Re: New golfer, New member to this site:)

Thanks for the greets guys.

Well yeah, I guess your onto something Straightshooter. All my life I have had problem settling for anything but perfect and constant progress. But thats not how it works and although I have gained conciderable skill in what I put my mind to I also get bored because I overdo my expactions and demands to myself.

Callawayiron, I live in Norway myself, I hear that all the time, that we have a great scenery and nature here, guess we don`t appreciate enough when I hear all your praise :).

Anyone interested in having some golf discussions on msn messenger?

How long is your golf season Max? I live in New England and it's starting to cool off.

I don't do the messenger things...just the forum.

By the way, your English is much better than my Norwegian. Tusen Tak (or something like that)!

We can still play and since this is my first season with golf Im not really sure. The local guys said the course was open until Christmas last year, due to the mild winter. Guess it depends on the wheather but I reckon that the course is open 3/4 of the year maybe.

That's pretty good! I spent a few weeks in Stavern one winter and EVERYTHING was covered with snow. I liked cruising around in a Spark. The air was dry and the beer was cold.

You're right, Straightshooter. I was bowled over when I found out how expensive. How did you know? Your breadth and depth of knowledge never ceases to amaze.

Re: New golfer, New member to this site:)

Well, now you get me all curious.

Okay, I want to know this from you:

The average wage in your county (approx) for these jobs: Teacher (high school), Nurses, Industrial worker, carpenter and and plumber?

Afterwards I want the price on your 2 best beers ;)

Im a business student so I want to know how expensive the beer is compared if you adjust it to average prices and wages in both countries :)

All depends if you want it in a glass or out of a paper bag under a bridge...
