I have only been "playing" for 2 weeks. I spent every couple of days at the driving range and I played the back 9 today because it wasn't busy. No one to hold up and no one to watch me. I shot a 74 playing the ball as it lies. Lost 3 balls in the water. My best hole I was 2 over and my best shot was a 9 iron from about 50 yards that landed 10 yards from the stick. VERY FUN. I look forward to learning and being a part of this site.

A lot of FUN indeed. Good job playing the ball as it lies and honestly counting your strokes. That's the only way to track true improvement: It will be interesting to see how much you can improve your score during 2008. Good luck!
Welcome to the forum. I just joined myself a few days ago - Nice bunch here. They will definitely try to help you progress. Keep up the good work and have fun with the game.
I'm sure it does. I tried playing last week but I could not get out of the woods. Every time I go practice I can always tell I'm getting better. Two weeks ago It would take me 4 or 5 swings just to hit the ball and I'm not missing anymore. It's really fun to be on the course and not worry about scores right now.
