I went golfing after a month or so lay off and I hit the ground( harder than you should). It hurt the rest of the day but it was a bearable pain and i finished the round. It is now a month and a half later and I have not played one round of golf since, because every time I have tried to swing a club the same pain comes back to the point of I can not even swing the club. The pain is in my left hand it seems to be in my ring finger bone on top of my left hand. I can do every other normal function without pain except to swing a golf club. I need help, whether it is an excercise or what ever it takes to make it better. Is there anyone out there that has experienced this and what can I do????? I MISS THE GAME OF GOLF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP
I have developed the same pain though not as severe over the last couple of weeks. Doesn't bother me dur the round but is sore afterwards. I have a slightly strong grip and do hit the ground hard a couple of time per round. Being 56 doesn't help I guess.

Put a little ointment and wrap some gauze around it...maybe some absorbine jr. or the double breaking reverse finger stretch...
Is that what you were looking for!?!?!
Go see the doctor, do what he says and don't do anything to disrupt the healing process...listen to your body and do something about it....

Hello. I just read your post about pain and it sounds like the exact same thing I have. I've lived with it for a few years now. Nothing hurts it other than golfing. I can play once and it will hurt afterwards, many times during but manageable. I played 4 times in 8 days a couple weeks ago and it was excrutiating. I wrapped tape around my hand and suffered through playing (it was free so I had to try). I went to a hand specialist yesterday and he basically blew me off and said he had no idea. I've never been so mad, like he didn't believe me. He squeezed and pushed but could not make the pain I feel repeat, even though I tried to explain that if I picked up a club it would hurt like ****. I don't know what to do now, love to play, but can't play more than once every couple weeks due to pain. He said I didn't have a cyst, which I thought might be causing some nerve pain. I don't really get swelling, it's very strange. I've had xrays done before because to me the pain feels like a hairline fracture but it makes no sense that it hurts in different places, but always hurts on top of my hand. I was wondering if you had any luck with a diagnosis, I'm going crazy with this thing. Feel free to email me at cdfeigley@yahoo.com, I'd like to discuss with someone who shares my ****.
See your doctor, there are certain nerves/ligaments & even cartalage damage in the area you are on about. All that may be needed is some manipulation. I suspect a finger bone has moved in its socket (dropped), much as can happen ironically with the same one in in a persons foot... Very painful..
As I say if you are worried & also seeing as its over a month now, def' see the quack.
