Wink Welcome me!

I'm new to golf. I started swinging about 6 months ago. I'm 17 years old. I really haven't played on any courses. I've watched my uncle play at Mansion Ridge in New York. Thats the closest that I've come to a golf course. He says that I should start at driving ranges and putting courses. I’ve only played miniature golf. I think I’m ready for a course, but maybe I’m getting ahead of myself. What should I do next? A course? Advice!

Welcome to Golf Rewind, Golfer2k5. Advice? No shortage of that here. For beginners, I'd say: Take lessons somehow. Individual lessons, group lessons, whatever. Just get yourself started on the right foot. Also, read stuff. Also, keep your expectations realistic. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. The reason of my earlier posts were because I don’t want to pay so much at golf courses. I wanted to find a good place for discounts. Hope you aren’t too mad at me.

Welcome to golf rewind golfer2k5 We have members here from all over the world & many are about your age. If you haven't already done so, you should hit a couple of buckets at the driving range with someone who plays and can show you the fundamentals(grip,stance,posture,balance)... if you don't want to spring for a lesson or 3(which I'd advise). Spend some time on a practice green as well.... it's a lot different than putt-putt. Good luck!

Welcome to GR,
You've already done quite a few posts lol.

There's quite alot of younger members on this forum!
I wonder if I'm the youngest member

Your sister would be the youngest member gg I believe. Anyway, a late welcome to Golfer2k5 despite the fact that you are already established here and a welcome to harry4golf, who I'm guessing was attempting to write an introduction himself when he quoted G2k5's earlier post.

Ah yes, but she IS a member here! You didn't say "the youngest member who regularly posts here"...then it would have been a different story. :nodsmiley
