Mizuno MX-23 Irons Review

I purchased these irons about a month ago and absolutely love them. They are forgiving, but still are workable enough to where you are rewarded for a good stroke. They have that great, soft feel of a forged iron and the playability of a cavity back. I probably wouldn't buy these again b/c they are a bit too forgiving for me, but I would highly recommend them for the mid-handicapper who doesnt want to go with a muscleback blade but still wants the feel and workability of a forged iron.

I bought a set last Winter, and during the Summer they were sharing time in my bag with my old x-12's.

I've been using them exclusively for the past 6 weeks, and beginning to appreciate them more with each round.

Aesthetically, they are head and shoulders above the x-12's in appearance in my opinion. They look good, both in the bag, and at set up. When hit square they're almost a club longer than my x-12's, which I don't really care about, but they are also just as accurate, which I do care about. The scoring irons, 7, 8, 9, pw feel lighter and provide great feedback.

I'm still considering new irons over the Winter but its getting harder and harder to justify a new purchase. These are growing on me.

I love my Mizuno MX-23's and feel like I score a little better with them than I do my Titleist 690.MB's. Right now I'm trying out the blades for fun, but will likely go back to the MX-23's next spring. They really are a great club.

Love my MX-23's as well. Tough to hit a bad shot with them. I've dropped my handicap about 7 strokes in one full season, mostly due to better long iron play. Great introduction to forged clubs for the high handicapper. Even if you can't swing well on a particular day, they still look good in the bag!

Love these sticks!!! Agree with mnevo8 my bad shots turned out surprisingly ok! Only played a short 9 hole course this past week..planning on getting a full round this weekend Update to come but I doubt that I will have anything negative to say about them!

I've got a 2nd hand set on appro - have played with them once and have put in about 6 hours practice on the range. I like them all except the PW which has a head like a shovel. I don't think there's much to choose between these and the X-14's in terms of performance.

I've played about 40 rounds with my 23s now and absolutely love them. I tried a ton of irons before I bought these and can honestly say there isn't another iron I would rather have.
Perfect combination of feel and forgiveness.

had them for almost a year now. really like them. great feedback compared to my previous ping isi-k; lets me know when i've hit not-such-a-great shot but doesn't penalize me too much for it. i give them a "birdie" for two reasons: 1) not as easy to hit as my pings (expected) & 2) no "eagle" cuz i've never had an eagle on the score card.

Re: Mizuno MX-23 Irons Review

Had a set. Played two rounds. Sold them. Higher irons particularly P are ugly and don't set up well. Not very forgiving. Like my Grad MP's much better.
